Northminster participates in mission both locally and globally. We strive to serve our community by following the words of Micah 6:8- He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
We regularly work with the Hickory Soup Kitchen, Cooperative Christian Ministry, Meal on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, and other organizations to care for our community.
Northminster values radical hospitality. Through our partnership with the Catawba Valley Interfaith Council and More Light Presbyterians, we seek to live out God's will to welcome all.
In the summer of 2016, a group from Northminster traveled to Washington DC to participate in an interfaith relations trip with The Pilgrimage organization. They worshipped with those from other faiths, learned about our commonalities and our differences, and served the DC community through service projects.
The Presbytery of Western NC supports the work of Missionary, Barbara Nagy, a mission worker in Malawi serving at Nkhoma Hospital at the invitation of the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian/Nkhoma Synod. Several of our church members have traveled to Malawi to help with building projects and to provide medical care.
