Parents, if you are able to make time to watch the videos with your kids the first time through, it will mean a lot to us and to them. Video is not a perfect format for kids, by any means, but it is helped along mightily by the presence of an older person engaging along with the children.
For the activities, we are making the assumption that there are some basic supplies. But we know some things aren’t all that typical and so we gathered a stash of them and placed them in a box in the breezeway at church. You are welcome to take what you need.
If there is any supply that you don’t have or you need printing done, please call Julie and she’ll bring what you need. You should also feel comfortable substituting materials with what you have available.
And if you have any questions at all, please contact Bradley by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
ABOUT COMPASSION CAMP
As we look around the world, our deep need for compassion becomes more evident with each passing day, perhaps now more than ever. Compassion Camp’s goal is to cultivate compassion for each other, ourselves, and the world. We will examine different places in our lives where we can cultivate compassion. Using each of the Compassion Camp components, we’ll explore themes of compassion as they relate to each session’s scripture.
The practice of lovingkindness serves as the backbone for our theme and has helped us order the flow of our session themes. Lovingkindness is the utmost form of selfless love toward ourselves and others. The practice begins with focusing on self-compassion because once we have compassion for ourselves, we can have compassion for others.
